Foodie news: Boston Thanksgiving menus and more

The foodies are back from a trip to Italy (and wishing we were still there), but before I share any of the delicious memories here's some news you can use for your Thanksgiving weekend in Boston.

New Thanksgiving Menus in Boston

Dante
40 Edwin H. Land Blvd., Cambridge, MA, (617) 497-4200
Dante Thanksgiving Day Menu
Enjoy naturally-raised, free-range Vermont turkey with all the fixins while taking in the Boston skyline. Vegetarian Thanksgiving entree available! 1:00-9:00 pm, 3 courses, $69/person

Rialto
1 Bennett St., Cambridge, MA, (617) 661-5050
Rialto Thanksgiving Day Menu
One of my favorite birds in Boston is Jody Adams' roasted baby chicken. I can only imagine what Rialto could do with a turkey. 1:00-7:00 pm, 4 courses, $70/person

So, a Sweet Tooth Walks into a Bar

Cafe Fleuri
The Langham, 250 Franklin St., Boston, (617) 451-1900
Deluxe Chocolate Bar
Every Saturday afternoon from now through June, indulge in Cafe Fleuri's 20th Anniversary Chocolate Bar for desserts from the past, present and future. You'll even find a liquid chocolate bar of cocktails! 11:00-3:00 pm, Saturdays, $38/person

Wine Lovers (May) Rejoice

According to Free the Grapes, a national coalition of wineries and wine lovers, a court ruling yesterday in Family Winemakers of California v. Jenkins declared Massachusetts' restrictions on winery-to-consumer shipments unconstitutional! Pending appeals, that means you may actually be able to have wine delivered to your Massachusetts home from any winery, anywhere! Anyone who's traveled to Tuscany knows how nice it would have been to just ship their hand-picked Chiantis and Montelpucians home to Mass., rather than shove them in their checked baggage.

Until next time...

Happy dining!
